Psalm 2:11 Serve the Lord with reverent awe and worshipful fear; rejoice and be in high spirits with trembling [lest you displease Him]. Amplified Bible (AMP)
Joshua 4:14
King James Version (KJV)
14On that day the LORD magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared (in awe of, respected) him, as they feared ( were in awe of, respected) Moses, all the days of his life.
In the amplified the word feared is read as in awe.
Feared means reverential awe, especially toward God:the fear of God. Synonyms: awe, respect, reverence, veneration.
I Samuel 18:15 says
So when someone you admire achieves something you are in awe of them.
You respect them for what they achieved in their life whether it is good grades in school, successful in business, or just when they did something out of the ordinary.
Revelation 4:8-11
Amplified Bible (AMP)
8And the four living creatures, individually having six wings, were full of eyes all over and within [underneath their wings]; and day and night they never stop saying, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty (Omnipotent), Who was and Who is and Who is to come.
9And whenever the living creatures offer glory and honor and thanksgiving to Him Who sits on the throne, Who lives forever and ever,
10The twenty-four elders fall prostrate before Him Who is sitting on the throne, and they worship Him Who lives forever and ever; and they throw down their crowns before the throne, crying out,
11Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive the glory and the honor and dominion, for You created all things; by Your will they were [brought into being] and were created.
Revelation 5:11-14
Amplified Bible (AMP)
11Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels on every side of the throne and of the living creatures and the elders, and they numbered ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands of thousands,
12Saying in a loud voice, Deserving is the Lamb, Who was sacrificed, to receive all the power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and majesty (glory, splendor) and blessing!
13And I heard every created thing in heaven and on earth and under the earth [in Hades, the place of departed spirits] and on the sea and all that is in it, crying out together, To Him Who is seated on the throne and to the Lamb be ascribed the blessing and the honor and the majesty and the power forever and ever!
14Then the four living creatures said, Amen! And the elders prostrated themselves and worshiped Him Who lives forever and ever.
Creation is in awe of Jesus, the sacrifice. We have to get back to real love, real worship, real praise toward our Savior. The one who sacrificed everything for you and I without expecting anything in return but your love. So shouldn't we give Him our best which is us, everything we have and let Him make and mold us to be what we were made to be. A worshiper, a body filled with praise to the one and only living God.
We praise our children when they do something good, we praise others for their good deeds, so praising our Savior for his love should come to us easily. Is it because we can't see him physically or touch him? Or that we let our circumstances dictate how and when we should stand in awe of Him.
Are we named in these scriptures? Are we not a part of every living creature on earth? If the trees and the ocean and even the grass does what it is supposed to do then why can't we? Are you in Awe of the only living and true God? Are you doing your own thing or what God made you for?
In Hebrews12:27-29
27The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.
28Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,
29for our “God is a consuming fire.”
In this passage in Hebrews we are told that the kingdom that God is bringing is unshakable and hence we should praise God with awe. The term Awe means an overwhelming feeling of reverence, admiration, fear, etc, produced by that which is grand, sublime; respectful fear and wonder. We are to be in awe of God and to approach him with reverence.
Do you consider Him deserving of your praise and worship? Can you imagine how much more blessed we would be if we truly lived a life of awe? Revelations tells us how it is to be in Heaven. We are now in a practice area for how we are going to live in heaven. Are you practicing everyday?
I watched my best friend practice everyday here on earth even till she drew her last breath now she is really living it in heaven. I personally want to live a life of practice.
Do you? If you have not yet accepted Jesus into you life please accept him today. We are not promised tomorrow. Where do you want to spend eternity?
