9/11 Lives changed forever

It has been 10 years today since the United States was impacted by terrorism.  We as Americans reacted by visiting our local churches and some of us stayed and some of us went back to the way things were before.
Our lives will never be the same ever again. So what changed in your life since? Do you really know why you are here and what you are to do? Many of our military felt led to fight for our freedom so while they are fighting what are you doing? I know that I pray for them daily and never forget what they have done for me. It is very much the the way I think about what happened over 2000 years ago when God's only son came down and died for my freedom of choice. So what do I do for Him in return? I am to reflect Him with his mercy, love, and compassion to others. Taking on the character of Christ! And in doing so we are His witnesses bringing Him honor, credit, and glory. He puts us in the church so that we might be of good use to those who are in need--- so that we might function as His body, each of us using our gifts, talents and skills as the Holy Spirit directs to help one another, and in the process, experience a refinement of our own spirits, souls, and minds. God did not save us to simply say that we are saved and fill out a church membership card, or that we might have the assurance that you are going to heaven one day. He saved you in order that you might live every hour of every day of the remainder of your life in faithful service and  obedience to Jesus Christ---- going wherever He leads, saying and doing whatever He prompts you to say and do by His Holy Spirit, and engaging in whatever forms of ministry and service that He calls you to pursue.

Yes those who lost their lives that day 10 years ago are living either with Him or without Him. Their time is over but for those of us who are still here what are we doing for others? Are we truly living the live we were given to the fullest for others or for ourselves?

The foremost characteristic of the life of Jesus Christ was and is service. We are most like Him when we serve as He served. Who are you serving today as you remember those who lost their lives in the 9/11 terrorist attack?

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. Joshua 24:15

I will not be shaken!!!

My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. He alone is my rock and salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. Psalms 62:1-2

August 23, 2011 approximately 2 pm I was sitting in the TV room with my sister-in-law and my son visiting when the room started shaking. What was so unusual was this room had a concrete floor so we were unsure what was going on till I got a phone call from my granddaughter telling us about the earthquake in Virginia. So we proceeded to watch the local news channel to see what was going on.

As I was hearing how everyone was shaken by the tremor I was at peace because I  knew who my rock was. I had to stand and believe that He alone is my fortress and no harm or danger could come my way. I am a faith believer and I have to stand on the Word of God. What are we standing on as a nation? Is he our rock, our salvation and our fortress?

This nation was built on Christian principles by our forefathers who knew who they were in Christ and who Christ was to them. They also knew that without God we could do nothing on our own.

Where have these principles gone to and where have our morals and values disappeared to? Have we thrown everything this country was based on out the window with the dishwater? Prayer was taken out of our schools when I was a little girl. I remember the day when we could take our Bibles to school and the Pledge of Allegiance was mandatory. We as a nation need to get back to the basics and back to the one who loved us first, back to our creator. We need to know who He is and what He stands for.

He is not a God of confusion so why do we not understand that He alone is the one to look to for everything in our lives.

Where do you stand with God? Are you living a life that is pleasing to Him?

So if the events of today has you shaken, your foundation may not be as rock solid as you would like it to be. So go ahead and ask Jesus to be your rock and fortress, ask Him to come into your life and accept you into the family. Its that easy no fancy words just ask for forgiveness for anything that you have done that has not been pleasing to Him. He has a gifts for you a clean and pure heart and eternal life with Him. Its your choice.

Are you standing in awe of God

Psalm 2:11 Serve the Lord with reverent awe and worshipful fear; rejoice and be in high spirits with trembling [lest you displease Him]. Amplified Bible (AMP)

Joshua 4:14

King James Version (KJV)
14On that day the LORD magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared (in awe of, respected) him, as they feared ( were in awe of, respected) Moses, all the days of his life.
In the amplified the word feared is read as in awe.
Feared means reverential awe, especially toward God:the fear of God. Synonyms: awe, respect, reverence, veneration.

I Samuel 18:15 says
When Saul saw how capable and successful David was, he stood in awe of him.

So when someone you admire achieves something you are in awe of them.
You respect them for what they achieved in their life whether it is good grades in school, successful in business, or just when they did something out of the ordinary.

Revelation 4:8-11
Amplified Bible (AMP)
8And the four living creatures, individually having six wings, were full of eyes all over and within [underneath their wings]; and day and night they never stop saying, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty (Omnipotent), Who was and Who is and Who is to come.
9And whenever the living creatures offer glory and honor and thanksgiving to Him Who sits on the throne, Who lives forever and ever,
10The twenty-four elders fall prostrate before Him Who is sitting on the throne, and they worship Him Who lives forever and ever; and they throw down their crowns before the throne, crying out,
11Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive the glory and the honor and dominion, for You created all things; by Your will they were [brought into being] and were created.

Revelation 5:11-14

Amplified Bible (AMP)
11Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels on every side of the throne and of the living creatures and the elders, and they numbered ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands of thousands,
12Saying in a loud voice, Deserving is the Lamb, Who was sacrificed, to receive all the power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and majesty (glory, splendor) and blessing!
13And I heard every created thing in heaven and on earth and under the earth [in Hades, the place of departed spirits] and on the sea and all that is in it, crying out together, To Him Who is seated on the throne and to the Lamb be ascribed the blessing and the honor and the majesty and the power forever and ever!
14Then the four living creatures said, Amen! And the elders prostrated themselves and worshiped Him Who lives forever and ever.
Creation is in awe of Jesus, the sacrifice. We have to get back to real love, real worship, real praise toward our Savior. The one who sacrificed everything for you and I without expecting anything in return but your love. So shouldn't we give Him our best which is us, everything we have and let Him make and mold us to be what we were made to be. A worshiper, a body filled with praise to the one and only living God.

We praise our children when they do something good, we praise others for their good deeds, so praising our Savior for his love should come to us easily. Is it because we can't see him physically or touch him? Or that we let our circumstances dictate how and when we should stand in awe of Him.

Are we named in these scriptures? Are we not a part of every living creature on earth? If the trees and the ocean and even the grass does what it is supposed to do then why can't we? Are you in Awe of the only living and true God? Are you doing your own thing or what God made you for?

In Hebrews12:27-29
27The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.
28Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,
29for our “God is a consuming fire.”
In this passage in Hebrews we are told that the kingdom that God is bringing is unshakable and hence we should praise God with awe. The term Awe means an overwhelming feeling of reverence, admiration, fear, etc, produced by that which is grand, sublime; respectful fear and wonder. We are to be in awe of God and to approach him with reverence.

Do you consider Him deserving of your praise and worship? Can you imagine how much more blessed we would be if we truly lived a life of awe? Revelations tells us how it is to be in Heaven. We are now in a practice area for how we are going to live in heaven. Are you practicing everyday?

I watched my best friend practice everyday here on earth even till she drew her last breath now she is really living it in heaven. I personally want to live a life of practice.

Do you? If you have not yet accepted Jesus into you life please accept him today. We are not promised tomorrow. Where do you want to spend eternity?
